The Element 485 is a 15.1" all-in-one POS terminal: screen, computer and I/O in one die-cast aluminium enclosure, running off a single power lead. This is part number TTFLEL485033, the N95 build with 8GB DDR4, a 128GB M.2 SSD and Windows 11 IoT Enterprise pre-installed.
What separates a terminal like this from a tablet on a stand is the back panel. Three RJ48 serial ports, six USB, a USB-C, an RJ11 cash drawer trigger and RJ45 Ethernet mean the printer, scanner, scales, pinpad, drawer and customer display all plug straight in. No powered hub, no daisy chain, no mystery disconnection halfway through a Saturday trade.
Why a metal chassis matters
The 485 uses an aluminium die-cast housing. On a five year replacement cycle that decision shows up three ways. Heat leaves through the metal instead of through a vent that slowly fills with dust and grease. The bezel does not flex when a staff member leans a palm on it to steady themselves. And the surface takes a wipe-down several times a day without going chalky.
The glass is True Flat PCAP, which means the touch surface runs flush to the frame with no raised lip. In a cafe or a bakery that is the difference between wiping the screen and picking crumbs out of a groove. PCAP also gives you the multi-touch response staff already expect from a phone, rather than the press-and-wait feel of an older resistive panel.

N95 or N97?
We carry the 485 in two Intel builds. Chassis, screen, ports, memory, storage and warranty are the same in both, so this comes down to processor headroom and price.

Frequently asked questions
What stand comes with it?
The foldable desk stand in the images, fitted and ready to go. It is fixed, faces the operator, and the screen angle adjusts on its hinge. To get the terminal off the counter, use the VESA 75 x 75 or 100 x 100 pattern behind the back cover with a monitor arm, wall plate or pole mount.
Will my serial printer, scales or pinpad still work?
Yes, and this is one of the better reasons to buy the 485. It carries three RJ48 RS232 serial ports, which most modern terminals have deleted entirely. They default to 0V and can be set to 5V or 12V for devices that take power from the port. You will need an RJ48 to DB9 cable for a standard serial plug, so tell us what is being connected on 1300 026 062 and we will send the right leads with it.
Has it got powered USB for a 24V printer?
Not this configuration. Powered USB at 12V and 24V is an optional factory build of the 485 and this STD model does not have it. If your printer needs it, call before ordering so we quote the powered USB build, which also ships with a 120W adapter rather than the standard 65W.
Can I put a customer display on it?
Yes. There is a dedicated second FeDP output for a customer-facing screen, plus USB for a small LCM pole display. We stock the matching Element 485 11.6" second display, and an 8.4" version as well.
Is the SSD upgradeable?
Yes, and easily. A service door on the rear cover opens onto the M.2 SSD, so a bigger drive is a counter-side swap rather than a full teardown. There is also a spare M.2 E Key slot. Memory is a single 8GB DDR4 module.
Will it wall mount or pole mount?
Yes. Both 75 x 75 and 100 x 100 VESA patterns sit behind the back cover, so the head can come off the desk stand onto a monitor arm, wall plate or pole. Allow for 4.3 kg when you pick the mount.
Is Wi-Fi included?
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 are an optional build on the 485, not standard. This model networks over its RJ45 Ethernet port, which is the right answer for a fixed counter anyway since a till dropping off a wireless network mid-sale is a problem you do not want. A USB Wi-Fi adapter retrofits without fuss if you need one.
