The most common connection type for a Flip Top Cash Drawer is the RJ12 which is a telephone-style connector designed to be attached directly to the Drawer Kick "DK" port of your receipt printer. By connecting them directly to the receipt printer, it allows the drawer to open automatically when a sale has been finalised and/or a receipt is printed but you can also open the cash drawer manually.
