Does it have Bluetooth?
Yes. This PD-24 (SKU PD24BT) is the Bluetooth-equipped variant, so it pairs wirelessly with a phone, tablet or in-cab terminal. It also has standard USB, RS232C serial and IrDA interfaces.
How long does the battery last?
The PD-24 runs on a long-life 7.2V rechargeable Lithium Ion battery with low-battery monitoring. Runtime depends on print volume and roll size; recharge from the included AC wall charger or an optional car charger between stops.
Does it have an auto-cutter?
No. Like most portable printers, the PD-24 uses a manual tear bar rather than an automatic cutter, which keeps the unit light and simple for mobile use.
Will it work with my POS or mobile software?
The PD-24 supports ESC/POS barcode commands plus Citizen and ESC/P commands, so it works with many mobile and POS applications. Some cloud POS platforms (for example Square) only support a specific list of printers, so check your POS provider's supported-hardware list or call us on 1300 026 062 before you buy.
Do I need to install a driver for USB?
If you are connecting over USB or serial to a Windows PC, install the Citizen PD-24 driver before plugging in the printer. Connecting first without the driver is the most common cause of a printer that will not print.
Can it print wider documents?
Yes. The full 112mm (4") width and 104mm max print area let it produce wider receipts and dockets, and it can reformat and print an 8.5" x 11" document in a 4" format, useful for field reports.
