Frequently asked questions
What paper does the CT-S310II use?
Standard 80mm (3") direct thermal receipt rolls, with no ribbon or ink required. It can also be set to print on 58mm (2") rolls. We recommend quality 80mm x 80mm thermal rolls for everyday use.
Does it have an automatic cutter?
Yes. The CT-S310II includes a guillotine auto-cutter that performs full and partial cuts, rated to around 2 million cuts. The cutter is field-removable for quick maintenance.
Which interfaces does this version have?
This variant ships with USB and Serial (RS232) interfaces. If you need to connect the printer over a network instead, see the CT-S310II USB/Ethernet version.
Can it open a cash drawer?
Yes. The printer has a drawer-kick (peripheral drive) port so a compatible cash drawer opens automatically when a receipt is printed.
Do I need to install a driver?
For USB connection, install the Citizen driver before plugging the printer in. Connecting the USB cable first is the most common cause of a printer that will not print. Citizen drivers are available free from the Citizen Systems support site.
Will it work with my POS software?
The CT-S310II uses the ESC/POS command set and works with most POS systems. Some cloud POS platforms (for example Square) only support specific printer models, so check your POS provider's supported-hardware list or call us on 1300 026 062 before ordering.
Can it be mounted vertically?
Yes. The CT-S310II supports both horizontal and vertical positioning, so it fits neatly into space-tight counter layouts.
Where it works best
- Retail checkouts and single-till counters
- Cafe, bar and hospitality service points
- Legacy POS terminals that use a serial (RS232) connection
- Ticketing and order printing
- Space-tight counters needing horizontal or vertical mounting
Keep it stocked with 80mm thermal rolls
The CT-S310II runs on standard 80mm (3") direct thermal receipt rolls. Stock up so you never run dry mid-shift.
