Element RW337D 9-pin impact dot matrix kitchen printer, black, front view

The Element RW337D dot matrix kitchen printer is a rugged 9-pin impact receipt printer built for back-of-house use. Because it strikes a ribbon onto plain bond paper rather than relying on heat, it keeps printing clear, legible kitchen order tickets (KOTs) in the hot, steamy, greasy conditions that cause thermal paper to fade. It is the right choice for kitchens, bars and food-prep stations that need reliable order tickets terminal after terminal.

Element RW337D impact kitchen printer for KOT printing in back of house

Made for the kitchen line

Send orders from the front counter or POS straight to the pass. The RW337D sits on the network over Ethernet (or connects via Serial or USB), strikes each KOT onto plain bond paper, and the auto-cutter drops a clean ticket every time. With dual-colour printing you can highlight rush or modifier lines, and the drop-in clamshell makes a paper or ribbon swap a few-second job between covers.

Frequently asked questions

Is the RW337D thermal or impact?
It is a 9-pin impact dot matrix printer, not a thermal printer. It strikes a ribbon onto plain paper, so the print does not fade in heat or steam. That is exactly why it is used in hot kitchens where thermal printouts would go blank.
What paper and ribbon does it use?
It prints on plain bond paper rolls (available in three widths) and uses a compatible impact printer ribbon cartridge, not thermal rolls. Keep a spare ribbon on hand so you can swap it when print starts to fade.
Does it have an auto-cutter?
Yes. A built-in auto-cutter trims each ticket, rated to 1.5 million partial cuts and 1.0 million full cuts.
Which connections does it support?
Ethernet, Serial and USB. Ethernet lets the printer sit on your network for multi-terminal setups, while Serial or USB wires it directly to a single POS terminal.
Will it work with my POS software?
Most kitchen-ticket and POS systems can drive an Ethernet, Serial or USB impact printer, but support varies and some cloud POS platforms (for example Square) only list specific hardware. Check your POS provider's supported-hardware list or call us on 1300 026 062 before ordering.
It is not printing over USB. What should I check?
Install the printer driver first, then connect the USB cable. Connecting USB before the driver is installed is the most common reason a new printer will not print. Also confirm the ribbon and paper are loaded correctly under the clamshell cover.
Why use it in the kitchen instead of a thermal printer?
Thermal paper darkens and fades when exposed to heat, steam and grease, which is normal in a working kitchen. The RW337D prints by impact onto plain paper, so kitchen order tickets stay readable through the whole service.

Where it is used

  • Kitchen order ticket (KOT) printing at the pass
  • Bar and beverage stations
  • Hot, steamy or greasy back-of-house environments where thermal fades
  • Networked, multi-terminal hospitality POS via Ethernet
  • Cafe, restaurant and food-prep order routing

Keep it stocked

The RW337D runs on plain bond paper rolls and needs a compatible impact printer ribbon cartridge (not thermal rolls). Stock up so the kitchen never runs dry mid-service.
