Does the P100 read QR codes and codes off a phone screen?
Yes. The P100 is a 2D imager with a new-generation CMOS sensor, so it reads QR codes and other 2D barcodes as well as standard 1D retail barcodes. Imagers like this read codes shown on phone and tablet screens, which is useful for mobile vouchers and e-tickets.
What is the stand for?
The included stand holds the scanner upright in presentation mode so it scans items as they pass in front of it, leaving both hands free. Lift the scanner out of the stand whenever you need to scan bulky or hard-to-reach items by hand.
Is this corded or wireless?
It is corded. The P100 connects to your PC or POS terminal over USB using the cable supplied in the kit, so there are no batteries to charge or pairing to manage.
What is the difference between 1D and 2D scanning?
1D barcodes are the traditional line barcodes on retail packaging. 2D barcodes (such as QR and Data Matrix) store more information in a square pattern. The P100 reads both, and the spec notes it can even read highly-distorted barcodes.
