Does the P100 scan QR codes and phone screens?
Yes. As a 2D imager it reads both traditional 1D barcodes and 2D codes such as QR codes, including codes shown on a phone or tablet screen.
What is the difference between a 1D and 2D scanner?
A 1D scanner reads only linear barcodes. A 2D imager like the P100 reads both 1D barcodes and 2D codes (QR, Data Matrix and similar), which makes it more future-proof for mobile vouchers, loyalty and digital tickets.
Is this scanner corded or wireless?
It is corded. The P100 connects to your host over a USB cable, so there is no battery to charge and no Bluetooth pairing to manage. If you need a cordless option, ask us about the Element Bluetooth scanner range.
Does this listing include a stand?
No. This is the bare handheld scanner only. If you want a hands-free presentation stand, look at the Element P100 Kit which includes a stand.
Will it work with my POS software?
USB barcode scanners like the P100 generally present as keyboard (HID) input, so most POS, ERP and spreadsheet software accept their data without special drivers.
