Why choose an impact printer over a thermal one?
Impact dot-matrix printing on plain bond paper produces dockets that stay readable in heat, humidity and grease, where thermal receipts fade or darken. It also prints a second copy (2-ply) and uses red as well as black, which is why impact printers remain the choice for dry cleaners, workshops and food service.
Will this work with my POS software or system?
It connects over RS-232 serial and uses Epson's ESC/POS commands, so it works with a wide range of POS systems. What paper and ribbon does it use?
It uses 76 mm plain bond paper rolls (not thermal paper) and an Epson ERC-38 ribbon. For two-colour black/red printing use the ERC-38BR ribbon (one is included). It supports single-ply or 2-ply (original plus copy) rolls.
How do I set it up?
