Drop a 76mm bond roll into the clamshell tray, snap in a Star RC700 ribbon cartridge and connect over USB. The SP742 mounts vertically or horizontally and includes a cash drawer kick-out port, so it slots straight into a kitchen pass, service counter or workshop bench. Why choose impact over a thermal receipt printer?

What ribbon does it use?
It uses a Star RC700 ribbon cartridge: RC700B for black, or RC700BR for two-colour black and red. A ribbon is included with the printer, and replacements are inexpensive and easy to swap.
Does it use thermal paper rolls?
No. The SP742 is an impact printer that prints on 76mm (3-inch) plain bond rolls using an ink ribbon, not heat-sensitive thermal paper. Use plain bond rolls rather than thermal rolls.
Will it work with my POS software?
The SP742 connects over USB and uses Star and ESC/POS commands, so it works with a wide range of POS systems. As with any receipt printer, confirm your specific POS software lists Star SP742 or ESC/POS impact support before purchase if you are unsure.
Can it print two colours?
