Fitting: the module installs inside the printer, so it is not a plug-in accessory. The easiest path is to add it to a printer order and have it fitted before the printer is despatched. For a printer already on site, arrange installation rather than opening the case yourself.
Three Problems It Solves
The printer is in the wrong place. Wired printers end up where the cable reaches, not where labels are needed. On Wi-Fi the printer can go in the stockroom, at the back dock or on a packing bench and still take jobs from the office.
Only one person can use it. A USB printer belongs to the machine it is plugged into. On the network it is a shared printer, so several workstations queue to the same device without swapping cables or buying a print server.
The job is not at a desk. Bluetooth pairs the printer to a phone or tablet, and the GoAPP app on iOS and Android prints from there. That covers stocktakes, shelf edge repricing and anywhere wheeling a laptop around is not realistic.

Which GoDEX printers accept it?

Do I lose the USB or Ethernet connection?
No. The existing wired ports keep working exactly as before. The module is an addition, so a cable can stay connected as a backup or for initial setup.
What do I need to set it up on the network?
Your Wi-Fi network name and password, and the printer utility to write those to the printer. From there it behaves like any other networked printer, and assigning it a fixed IP address is worth doing so the connection does not move.
Can I buy it with the printer in one order?
Yes. It appears as an add-on option on every compatible GoDEX printer page, so it goes into the cart with the printer and can be fitted before despatch.
Add it when the printer has to be shared, moved away from the PC, or driven from a phone on the shop floor. A single-user printer that lives on one desk does not need it, and an industrial ZX printer cannot take it.
