Will this work with my POS software or system?
It depends on your POS software. The TM-T82IV uses standard ESC/POS (and OPOS / JavaPOS) drivers and works with a wide range of POS systems. Please note it is not supported by Square. How do I install and set up the TM-T82IV?
Install the Epson driver (the Advanced Printer Driver or OPOS driver, free from Epson's support site) before connecting the printer by USB. Plugging in the USB cable before the driver is installed is the most common cause of setup and printing problems. What's the difference between the TM-T82IV and the TM-T82IVL?
They share the same 80 mm format, 250 mm/s speed and 203 dpi resolution. The
TM-T82IV is the higher-duty model with a 2-million-cut auto-cutter and a 150 km printhead; the entry
TM-T82IVL has a 1.5-million-cut cutter. Choose the IV for heavier daily volumes.
What paper does the TM-T82IV use?
Standard 80 mm direct-thermal receipt rolls (58 mm is selectable with the supplied guide), up to an 83 mm roll diameter. The common 80 x 80 mm till roll fits perfectly. No ink or ribbon is needed.
Can it open a cash drawer?
Yes. It has a built-in cash-drawer kick-out port, so a compatible RJ-style cash drawer opens automatically when a sale is finalised.
