It depends on your POS software. How do I install and set up the TM-T82IVL?
Install the Epson driver (the Advanced Printer Driver or OPOS driver, free from Epson's support site) before connecting the printer by USB. Plugging in the USB cable before the driver is installed is the most common cause of setup and printing problems. What's the difference between USB+Serial and USB+Ethernet?
Same printer, different connection. Choose
USB + Serial if your POS connects over a traditional RS-232 serial port; choose the
USB + Ethernet model if you want to share the printer over a network. If you need higher cutter durability, step up to the TM-T82IV.
What paper does the TM-T82IVL use?
Standard 80 mm direct-thermal receipt rolls (58 mm is selectable with the supplied guide), up to an 83 mm roll diameter. The common 80 x 80 mm till roll fits perfectly. No ink or ribbon is needed.
Can it open a cash drawer?
Yes. It has a built-in cash-drawer kick-out port, so a compatible RJ-style cash drawer opens automatically when a sale is finalised.
