What paper does the SRP-QE300 use?
It uses standard 80mm (3") direct thermal receipt rolls. No ink, toner or ribbon is needed. It can also handle 58mm (2") rolls with the optional paper guide.
Does it have an auto-cutter?
Yes. The QE300 includes an automatic guillotine cutter rated to 1.5 million cuts, so receipts are cleanly cut and ready to hand over.
Which interfaces does it support?
This SRP-QE300 model connects via USB 2.0 and Ethernet (LAN). Ethernet lets multiple POS terminals share one networked printer. Note this entry-tier model does not include Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
Can I connect a cash drawer?
Yes. The printer drives a cash drawer through its drawer-kick port, and supports two drawers via a Y-type adaptor.
How do I set it up over USB?
Install the Bixolon printer driver first, then connect the USB cable. Installing the driver before plugging in the printer is the single most common fix for a printer that powers on but will not print.
Will it work with my POS software?
The QE300 is ESC/POS compatible and works with most POS systems. Some cloud POS platforms (for example Square) only support specific printer models, so check your POS provider's supported-hardware list or call us on 1300 026 062 before ordering.
Is this printer thermal or impact?
It is a direct thermal printer, so it prints onto heat-sensitive thermal paper with no ribbon. For a kitchen or back-of-house impact (dot-matrix) printer, look at the Bixolon SRP-275III instead.
